»Language : A Feast« – this is the motto of the Literaturfest Salzburg inviting literature enthusiasts on five days each May to the most different places in the city in order to make literature come alive in all its facets. Readings, talks, poetry or music – for more than a decade, the Literaturfest Salzburg has been firmly established in Salzburg’s cultural calendar of events.
For the Literaturfest Salzburg, we developed a branding which shows the festival’s diversity also in the colour scheme and design vocabulary. Delicate lines interrupt big cubistic shapes and create varying design grids. The colour scheme plays with complementary colours to increase suspense. A point of contrast are the monochrome portraits of the invited authors. In addition to various festival products, a booklet is published each year, issuing the festival programme in chronological order as well as texts and illustrations by the authors. »Literature on the shop window« features single sentences of a different author each year on the windows of shops and restaurants – some are thought-provoking, others irritate and some are humorous.
