اللغة العربية هي لغتنا الأم ، لغة القرآن ، وأقوى اللغات ،و لكن على الرغم من ذلك ، خلال العقود القليلة الماضية ، وإلى جانب حالة العولمة التي اتفق عليها العالم ، يتم تجاهل اللغة العربية ، حتى الأطفال في الشرق الأوسط ، يتم الدفع بهم فى المدارس الدولية، فيمارسون اللغات الأجنبية باستمرار، حتى يفقدون لغتهم ، التي هي هويتهم. لذلك، أحاول تنفيذ مشروع يقوم بتعزيز اللغة العربية بين الأطفال العرب في منطقة الشرق الأوسط ، لتعزيز ألسنتهم في ممارسة لغتهم و تشجيع أعينهم على التعرف على جمال اللغة العربية من حيث المفردات القوية والقواعد. مفهوم التصميم الذي بَنى مشروعي بالكامل هو البساطة و هي أيضاً الهدف الرئيسي للمشروع ، والذي قاد إلهامي إلى تنفيذ الخط العربي للأطفال ، من الأطفال. بعبارة أخرى ، صممت خطًا مستوحى من كتابات الأطفال. خط ناعم ، سريع ، عملي ، بسيط ، فوضوي و ممتع يجذب انتباههم، و يشجعهم على التفاعل معه والنظر إلى شيء "جميل". اخترت تصميم الخط العربي الذي سيتم استخدامه في إعادة تصميم كتاب "كليله ودمنة" الشهير، للكاتب "ابن المقفع". كليلة ودمنة كتاب مهم جداً أن يقرأه الأطفال من هذا الجيل ويفهمونه ويستوعبونه جيداً. الكتاب بالتأكيد يعزز الوعي للأطفال ، ويوسع آفاق تفكيرهم ومهاراتهم الفكرية
Arabic is our mother language, the language of Quran, and the most powerful of all Languages, however, during the last few decades, and along with the state of globalization that has concurred the world, the Arabic language is being neglected, even kids in the middle east , go to international schools, and lose their language, which is their identity. Therefore, I am trying to execute a project that on enhancing the Arabic language among Arab kids in the middle east area, to strengthen their tongues on speaking and sharpen their eyes on recognizing the beauty of Arabic language in terms of strong vocabulary, grammar and ability to construct strong phrases,
The design concept that has built my entire project formed and developed through a short and very condense time period. Simplicity is the main target of the project, which drove my inspiration into executing the Arabic font for the kids, from the kids. In other words, I designed a font that is inspired from the handwritings of the kids. A soft, fast, practical, simple, messy and fun font that would attract their attention, would encourage them to interact with it and look at something “pretty”. I chose to design an Arabic font that will be used in the renovation of the book "Kallila and Dimna" for the famous "Ibn AL Moqafaa". Kalila and Dimna is one book that is pretty important that children of this generation read, understand, and digest really well. The book is one that definitely increases awareness for kids, and expands their thinking horizons and intellectual skills.

Basata (means: simplicity) Arabic handwriting typeface that was designed to look like scribble kids handwriting.
كخطوة أولى ، قمت بإعداد بطاقات تحتوي كل منها على رسم بسيط وخط يتيح للأطفال كتابة ما يرونه على البطاقة. كما طلبت منهم كتابة أسمائهم وأسماء الكتب المفضلة لديهم. كانت هذه هي المنهجية التي تمكنت من خلالها جمع كتاباتهم كإلهام لتصميمي
As a first step, I prepared cards each with a very simple illustration and a line by which the kids would write what they see on the card. I also allowed them to write their names and names of their favourite books. this was the methodology by which i could collect their handwritings as inspirations.
بعد تحليل الكتابات التي تم جمعها بدأت في رسم الحروف الأربعة الأولى من الحروف الهجائية العربية ، مستوحاة من كتابة أيدي الأطفال ، قمت برسم ارتفاع الأسنان على مستوى واحد فقط ، كما حافظت على تشوهات الحروف للحفاظ على روح العفوية و البساطة الخاصة بالأطفال
After analyzing the collected handwritings I started drawing the first four letters of the Arabic alphabets, inspired from the kids handwriting, only one tooth height was applied, also saved the deformations of the letters to keep the spontaneity and simplicity vibe of the kids.
