Amplify is a web application built by the Intergenerational Change Initiative -- an organization within the CUNY School of Professional Studies and affiliated with the Public Science Project. ICI is a team of researchers and youth leaders who enact change through research-supported activism.
Amplify is a digital survey tool that was co-designed by the ICI youth team. Launching soon in NYC, it will empower youth to design and conduct surveys. These survey results can then be shared with peers and local governments to influence positive change.
I joined the ICI team as a technology adviser. I am helping the team throughout the design and development process. And I helped facilitate user research conducted by the youth team.
I am also helping the team plan for the future by exploring the feasibility of new distributed ledger technologies like blockchain. Although still very new, these technologies have the potential to improve user privacy while increasing research transparency. It could help the Amplify project grow by empowering many different universities and research foundations to collaborate on a shared distributed ledger of public surveys.
