Lost in Kyoto. 2018

Kyoto is truly a magical place with Buddhist temples, gardens, shrines, imperial palaces, and traditional Japanese architecture. Kyoto was once the capital of Japan and where the Emperor resided until 1868. During our trip to Kyoto we took the time to visit;

Fushimi Inari Shrine
It is famous for its thousands of Torii Gates that line through the sacred Inari Mountain and its wooded forest. This shrine is one of the most popular and important shrine in Kyoto, which is dedicated to Inari the Shinto god of rice. The fox is believed to be the messenger of Inari, which explains the numerous fox statues through out the shrine.

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
A never ending forest of Bamboo tress soaring to the sky, there is a calming and peaceful presence while walking through the winding path.

Kinkaku-ji (Rokuon-ji)
One of the most popular zen Buddhist temples in Kyoto, known for its Gold temple. The temple sits in the middle of the pond surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Kyoto has something to offer at every turn making it a perfect location to get lost in. Kyoto has been one of may favorite prefectures to experience in Japan.
