RTÉ News Election 2016
I worked with a developer on a responsive website for the 2016 General Election in Ireland for RTÉ News. There was a focus on relevance before Election Day, allowing users to view video pitches for the majority of candidates in all constituencies.
On Election day, live data was pulled in and fed through a variety of dynamic widgets and graphs, allowing the public to view in-depth voting figures and information in real-time. A national summary allowed users to view count status, first preference votes and more via an interactive constituency map as well as national elected candidates. Users could also drill down to their own constituency and view vote counts, exclusions and transfers for each candidate in their constituency, count-by-count.
The site was shortlisted for 'Best in News Publishing and Entertainment' in the Eir Spider Awards in 2016.
