My recent work is made from rust and acrylic paint on latex skins. I first corrode and rust sheets of copper, brass and steel, and then I paint acrylic along the natural rust and patina patterns. I repeat this step one or two more times before painting several layers of latex paint over the metal. After this dries, I peel the latex off of the metal and am left with a print from the paint and corrosion. The design is composed of abstract shapes and a mixture of natural rust hues and vibrant colors. The interaction between balance and contrast allows viewers to see through the paint into the life of the metal. Read Less
