The goal of this project was to make a desk big enough for my needs, which is a multi screen workstation.
The idea was to make a metalic structure, and finish it with wood or glass

In the expanded view we can see the main components of the desk, from top to bottom: glass panel, wood table top, led lights, keyboard support, "sliding" tubes and the metal structure.
The "sliding" tubes are fixed on the desk main skeleton, and the keyboard support is attached to them, making it possible to go sideways.
The wood table top is carved in the dimensions of the glass, making it touch the metal strucutre on the front for better looking, and having some space on the back for eventual holes for the cables (if needed).
Led strips will be attached to the underside of the table top, mostly because of my aesthetics preferences.
Support bars are visible from the glass on purpose, to give a "industrial look" for the piece.
The carvings are the same thickness of the glass (8mm), making a good flat surface.
As i do not decided yet which color the table top will be, i made two possibilites to guide me better.
This is a working in progress, the next step is building the actual desk in real life, soon i will post more pics...
