Commissioned wall panel for izakaya Michizaki (Braga).
The brief was to create a seasonal wall panel, to welcome summertime into the restaurant.
The theme evidently honors Takeshi Kitano's beautiful and magical film Kikujiro No Natsu (The Summer of Kikujiro).
The illustration was inspired directly by the vibrance and warmth of summer colors, displayed in a traditional japanese landscape with blooming sunflowers.
The illustrated panel was later converted into a surimono, a complimentary print to be offered to Michizaki's customers at the end of the season.
