The Best Before Date ≠ The Use-by Date

The Best Before Date ≠ The Use-by Date
Aims of this project are promoting the differentiation of the best before date and the use-by date, letting people understand food after the best before date, and also promoting observing, smelling and tasting a food, distinguish its quality, rather than only relying on the best before date. It is hoped that it helps people and supermarket prevent food waste.
Character Design - Mr.B & Mr.U
Mr. B represents the best before date label. Food with this label can be eaten even after the best before date. When food is after the best before date, we need to observe, smell and taste so as to distinguish its quality. So he has a pair of eyes, nose, mouth, and tongue. This label is used on a wide range of food, including frozen, dried, tinned one etc.

Mr. U represents the use-by date label. Food with this label can only be eaten up to this date or before. He looks like a pig. Such an image is to let audiences associate it with meat and dairy products. This label is used on meat, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables.
