How to brand your Custom Pre-Rolled Cone

Custom Pre-Rolled Cones - How to brand your joint

Buying a custom pre-rolled cone is not an easy process unless you know what to be aware of. There are a multitude of factors which will come into play. So, in this article I will layout the main points you have to be aware of when buying custom pre-roll cones

First and foremost, you must know what kind of paper pulp you like. There a couple of types of pulp you could choose from. There is rice, flax and hemp. Rice paper burns very cleanly and quickly. Its the type of paper which you burn and it leaves almost no ash. This can be nice when you have flower which has an especially potent flavor and you want the paper to impart as little taste as possible. A flax paper is sort of your standard rolling paper for cones. Most pre-roll cones are made with flax paper, it is sort of the jack of all trades. The paper burns at an average speed, it imparts somewhat of a papery taste and is extremely reliable in terms of burn speed and not running or canoeing. Hemp paper has noticeably browner shade which many processors like because it feels more natural to the consumer. Hemp paper burns slightly slower and has more robust smoke. It can add a creaminess to the smoke because of its fullness. A big piece of misinformation in this industry is that all brown cones use hemp paper. That is not true. The original RAW papers are not actually hemp; they are unbleached flax papers. Custom Cones USA is one of the few manufacturers to offer 100% hemp cones.

Second you must understand what size pre-roll you want and it depends on what you want to offer your customers. An economical one gram cone or perhaps a quick and easy small format pre-roll. It is important you don’t limit yourself to the cone sizes which are out there. Certain manufacturers can make any dimension pre-roll cone you would want. This allows you to get more creative with your packaging. You should be creating your packaging and then getting a pre-roll cone which fits, not the other way around. Don’t limit yourself when it come to packaging your joint. It is also important that the cone you get works with knock boxes you might use. There isn’t anything special about certain cones, you just need to make sure the dimensions of the hole match up with the diameter of your cone.

Third you need to know how you can brand the actual pre-roll. There are multiple options out there. One option is to print directly on the crutch. The thin and translucent paper allows you to see the printed logo underneath. Using bright colors and white or black fonts helps to make your logo/brand stand out more underneath the paper. For instance, a bright red background and stark white font, really pop! If you don’t want to change your brands colors or want a clearer image you can opt for an external wrapping around the crutch of the joint. It provides a nice glossy image and smooth feeling on the finger tips. Since it is wrapped externally around the crutch, you are free to use any color combinations.

Finally, you should have an understanding of how long it will take to get your product. Even with the best design if you have to tie up your cash for many months before you can receive the product, the greatest design in the world won’t help you. Make sure there is a short lead time so you can service your customers with your awesome new design!
