Čínské umění nahlížím a skrze sebe přetvářím a proměňuji. Čínský učitel mě obohacuje o své vědění. Není to však fyzická osoba, ale je to celá čínská kultura. Tu ve své práci zkoumám prostřednictvím literatury, publikací, výstav, filmů, dokumentů a fotografií. Vytvářím prostor, do kterého divák vstupuje skrze měsíční bránu. Tou se dostává do nového světa, do instalace, kde zachycuji svůj vnitřní svět, své myšlenky a sny. Proces tvorby je inspirovaný čínským přístupem, a proto i formálně připomíná čínský výtvarný projev, avšak je velmi pozměněný. Malby jsou sice dělány na čínský papír, tuší, ale můj pohled je zcela nový – projekce využívá estetiky čínského stínového divadla, ale rekvizity i děj se odlišují. Touto transformací prošla i kniha, ke které jsem přistupovala procesuálně, protože filozofická kniha Tao‑te‑ťing je především (jak prozrazuje ve svém názvu) o cestě – procesu. //
I am dealing with the process of transforming the Chinese art through me. The Master from China has enriched me with his knowledge. He is not a living person, but he signify the whole Chinese culture to me. I am exploring this culture through literature, exhibitions, movies and pictures. I am creating a new space where the spectator walk through the moon gate. My installation consists of a video projection, artist’s book and series of paintings. Viewer walks into the new space, where I am giving an opportunity to see my inner life, my thoughts and ideas. I am inspired by the Chinese process of creation, and that is why the artefacts are so formally close to their artistic form, but in fact they are different. Although the pictures are painted in traditional way with ink on a Chinese rice paper, my approach stays different since I am European. As same as in the projection, where I am using an aesthetic of Chinese shadow theatre, but props and storyline also differ from it. The same transformation through process happened with the book, because the main thought of philosophical text Dao De Jing is going through the journey – process (as its name tells).
