Elsa Zaldivar
ROLEX AWARD WINNER
I was asked to design a poster representing a Rolex Award Winner & their accomplishments. I designed a poster for Elsa Zaldivar, who designed composite panels that can be used to build houses - a practical solution for the housing and wood shortage affecting Paraguay's poorest communities.
My main goal was to design something powerful. I wanted to recall the use of recycled fibers and Paraguayans native vegetable, as woven material, sturdy and used to enrich and improve the quality of life. The ending result of this poster contains strokes that glisten as spun gold, hinting to the fact that these panels do much more than protect a family, providing shelter - they bring a richness to every one of the lives of those involved.
