New Boosbeck Industries: Furniture Catalogue

Background
Teesside-based artist Adam Clarke developed New Boosbeck Industries, a project that draws on a moment of deprivation and production in 1930s Teesside, and uses new technologies to work with the public to design and produce furniture. Clarke’s ‘New Boosbeck Industries’ is reviving this tradition to generate a new and sustainable social enterprise in Teesside.

Brief
New Boosbeck Industries requires a product catalogue to promote themselves at national and international trade fairs. The look and feel of the design/layout needs to reflect the ethos and characteristics of the business and the product range.
Response
The furniture of New Boosbeck Industries are predominantly made out of plywood.
The texture of it, as well as the angular and minimalism of the furniture feeds into the catalogue. As this enterprise is far from corporate and puts a great deal of emphasis
in the people that contribute to it, I wanted to make sure I communicated warmth through my choice of colors and layout.
