Dan i noć na PMF-u / Day and Night at PMF — Open Days of University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Science!
This is a yearly all-day (and night) event, aimed mostly at kids, boasting full schedule of fun experiments and workshops. It will make your kid fall in love with science, even if you never did.
But, the brief for it’s visual identity carries some complexity.
The Faculty of Science is comprised of 7 very different departments, each showcasing their own expertise: Geography, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology and Geophysics.
To avoid trying to present each and every one, instead, I developed the identity of the event itself.
It is literally ‘day’ and ‘night’, visualised through a round, sun-like, moon-like, clock-like logo.
The typography flows in the clockwise direction, and the colors reminiscence of some raw, illuminating contrast in the hues of day and night.
As to stay minimalist whilst showing some playfulness, the color scheme remains limited, while the illustration brings the box of joy (and knowledge). In the true Hogwarts sense, the kids dive in the box of wonders, and discover all kinds of science (or magic?).
