From clothing start-ups to elevating fashion brands, technology is now bringing the custom-made clothing to a completely new level. Though the clothing trends are restricted to only the wealthiest of all, we are hoping that the introduction of technology and robots would bring more affordability and ease.

Many of you must be wondering how this trend came into being. The reason behind this is ill-fitting clothing with unmatched sizes and measurements. However, with the custom-made designing and production in process, not only the fashion industry will transform, your fashion sense and sizing will change too.
How it all started?
Back in 1880’s, almost all manufacturers produced garments through its mass-production. That was the only method where technology was used. Before that, all clothing was hand-tailored and designed by labours. This led to productions of fixed size of T-shirts let’s say, which were then sent back to retail stores.
We know how human bodies come in varying sizes. Our postures demand different sizes. Of course, you can’t fit the entire population in small, medium or large. But unfortunately, due to this type of manufacture in bulk, the masses had to buy ill-fitted clothing only for the sake of low prices. This kept on going since there were no restrictions on standard clothing sizes until the concept of bespoke clothing came into existence.
The rise of Custom Clothing Technology
It may sound exciting for fresh fashion entrepreneurs. Recently, Amazon adapted a new machine-made custom clothing technology that not only manufactures clothing according your requirements but also produces in bulk with technology.
It works as a customer enters his exact measurements and fitting. Then computer made systems do the further processing. First, cuts out samples from the fabric and then another robotic machine stitches it together. The entire process can produce garments in bulk if a fashion company orders it or even for one customer. It is monitored through cameras and human supervision to ensure quality. The machine can produce any type of cut and sew clothing. However, the focus is to make clothing cheaper, according to the perfect fitting and size, and the process more eco-friendly.
Will this be affordable to all?
Until now, the technology was only accessible to large fashion brands that designed clothes for the rich. However, as its integration has now become cheaper and much eco-friendly, many other companies are using it as a way to produce custom-made clothes in less cost.
However, technology and robots have not replaced human labour yet, but in many places, there is a mix of both tech and human hand to produce custom clothes in bulk. This has made many lives easier and it is very convenient nowadays to order clothes using the bespoke clothing technology. We are hoping this to become our future soon.
