Every Friday again, the bar is full, a smoky room with thirsty people, waiting for their glasses filled. The more beer, the stronger the stories. I hear words I did not understand, but under the terminology lies a world of swirling experiences and wild adventures, life at sea, the life of a skipper.

For as long as I can remember I hear stories of sailors, always accompanied by a glass of beer. This provides the necessary exeguration, but that makes it even more impressive. Well, I'm not such a strong storyteller, I can never tell stories with so much conviction and humor to others. At least not with my voice, but in words and illustrations! The purpose of this research and my project is to be a platform for four of these stories and experiences. The project is intended to provide insight into the culture, daily life, the exceptions and the beauty of life at sea. I want to address in the following manner; Every true story represents a particular moment in the life of everyone, so I hope that people are in some way able to empathize. At sea you have no hospital. How is it with food? You can hardly walk to Albert Heijn.

On sea there is so much to see,
wild waves, rain storms, rough work, not fine, far from home.
But calm, calm lapping against the shore.
Angry men against their wives in the lock.
You're doing it wrong.
cast off, we sail to the horizon and on and on and on and if you take the right course
continues to get nothing else but the
vast endless ocean.
Sleep, watch, sleeping, eating, sleeping,
the rhythm is not like home.
The time is the sun, the moon, the stomach.
Space is limited but in the meantime,
much space you rarely see
