outdoor table for small terraces
I started analyzing the subject by analyzing practical solutions. I have observed how different types of balcony are used and what the owners use. Determining distinctive dimensions was the next step. The investigation revealed that there is no standard size of the height of the ledge, the windows or the door position, nor the size of the balcony area.
One determining size was the height of the railing, which should be at least 95 mm high. This design was induced by the fact that the table top surface must remain below this size.
My goal was to create a table that could stay out of the summer in winter without wasting or damaging the weather. So, shape and material selection were induced by this function.
The terrazzo material is made by mixing concrete and other additives, then by burnishing the concrete. I selected glass and white gravel for the additive. In the concrete recipe I used brightening powder to make lighter gray color and a flowing material which, by engaging the concrete particles with a plastic layer, made it easier to roll over each other, giving me a more uniform beautiful concrete surface. The mold was created from styrene foam, and after placing the polished, crushed glass and the gravel, I placed it on a glass net. This keeps the concrete so that it does not break. The polishing of the glass scrap was needed to adhere to the concrete. After concrete molding and drying, I achieved the right surface with wet polishing.
I used 20 mm diameter stainless steel, which is very durable. The lateral sides were bent from a steel sheet of 3 mm thick to be sure to hold the 8 kg concrete slab. The frame was sintered in white to make it even more oppressive. Higher metal parts are used when you are outside for a short time, for example smoking or drinking a glass of beer. The concrete part when we eat because it is a perfect height when sitting
