Visual Language
Viseme:
People can verbalise their thinking
They can also visualise it.
Lip reading is a method of using visual clues from a speakers face, mouth and tongue to decode the contents of the spoken language. I have graphically developed shapes to form a visual language, which stems from the eighteen positions formed by the mouth within the phonetic alphabet.
What I have created is neither logical nor factual but it is an experimental investigation into communication in its most visual form.
Visual Language:
This study aimed to look at the impact of visual language within our society, using extensive research and experimentation it formed a project that allowed me to create various different outputs. I based the project on how we communicate and visually interact with one another using the sounds and speech formed in the English language.
I created a leaflet based on all my research and experimentation, with the design based on an Introduction to Lip reading.
