VENEER
Audiovisual Installation

Veneer emerges as a manifest against today’s society paradigm - appearance over substance.
The name Veneer, meaning “layer”, “appearance”, “disguise”,represents the layer that distorts
reality, this refering to both consumerism and social media.

We present a vision about how millenial's identities can be expressed through filling their space
with material things, which before was the bedroom, and now is social media. This project
focuses on how our identities can be seen as a performance, and how this representations
of the self can or can't reflect
a person's identity.

On this first moment, the Social Self installation intends to illustrate the way we live in an era
of simulation, where reality can be manipulated, created and simulated, through social media.

VENEER
Exhibition

In this second moment, Veneer exhibited several millennial's rooms, showing
the lack of personality
in them. The bedroom walls are now empty,
and the social media walls are full.
