2013 Competitive Scholarship Portfolio

This semester I explored the relationship between people and comfort objects, particularly beds and bedding. I embroidered life sized human figures on bedsheets, inviting the viewer to interact with another person in an intimate yet voyeuristic way. I also used quilting, a process my mother taught me, to turn scans of the scrapbooks she made me as a child into a quilt which pieces together moments of my life for others to see.
