Art of Fazli Azeem
Art unites the world. Foreign products, cable television and the internet have created a generation of young artists who see their own culture as the outside world does. Pluralism, human rights and transparency are not alien words anymore. These are issues which need to be addressed, and in most cases, art is the personal medium of change. I use popular culture as my inspiration, I draw what I see. My interaction with contemporary artists made me question the need or the desire to re-create the obvious. This has given rise to a direction of iconography through with digital abstraction, patterns and complexity. I see my work adapting to online-subculture, the anonymity of alternating identities, using the visuals and animations that bring back the respect for celebrating the present instead of the past.
