“If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
This project aim is to raise awareness about to what extent war can cause damage to children’s mental health that can reshape their post-war life not only during the war period. A research was made to enlarge knowledge to our understanding to the children emotions and psychologically. Following my research, I was able more to form an image of how children perceive war which helped me sort of transform their inner feelings into visuals and illustrations to deliver the message of the psychological part of the war children.

Focus: The psychological effect of war on children
Why: Because it was rarely done to open people eyes into the psychological needs of children and it was mostly about shelter, food, and education.
My Reflection: That children are still able to smile and play and are still hopeful forbetter life and future. However, all of this goes away if their source of protection, par- ents, are being gone or murdered. Their peaceful childhood might got stolen from them, but they still got the ability to live it even during violent circumstances. Besides,it is easier to fix children mental health, who lost their home and family, than to fix anadult’s because children are still forming and growing their emotions and meaning of life.

However, he loses his identity as a hero slowly from the one battle after another.
During the whole journey starting from the house collapse, the story displays how war looks like from the boy’s perspective, and how he is being a hero.
