Play Town: Discovering Our Heritage through Play

Home to the iconic dragon playground and the Games Village of the 1973 Southeast Asian Peninsular (SEAP) Games, Toa Payoh is where leisure, sports, and imagination resides. The Play Town: Discovering Our Heritage Through Play exhibition is a visual journey that brings alive the stories of the country’s oldest housing estate, offering a gateway into this heartland neighbourhood that has shaped not just how Singaporeans’ live but have fun. The exhibition identity is articulated through playful recall of geometric shapes and colours inspired by the look of the 7th SEAP Games’ as well as the playgrounds made by Khor Ean Ghee. Hosted in a public atrium in Toa Payoh, the exhibition is also designed to stimulate and encourage visual interest and curiosity from passersby.
