Hidden Tribes
'Hidden Tribes' my diploma project for the Hungarian University of Fine Arts 2018 june.
Objects/installation, 5 works with 50x50 cm background pictures, faces carved in plywood and carved wooden masks in front of them. I made the masks without any particular references. I tried to match each mask characteristics with the woods errors and atributes, creating custom personalities for them. They serve as an annoying or deffensive entity for the faces behind them. The faces are from friends and from people that I don't know. My goal with this work was to reflect on smaller communities in subcultures which I call 'tribes'. They can be a group friends or familiar people with same interests. I try to analyze my and others place and connections inside them. With empathy and close connections, not only the joyful things are going to be shared, but one's sadness and burdeons as well.
