Book design - Protagoras by Plato

Editorial
Protagoras by Plato

Protagoras is a dialogue by Plato. The main argument is between the elderly Protagoras, a celebrated Sophist, and Socrates.
The essential subject of the book is virtue and how it can be taught. The book was designed as an exclusive and limited gift for friends
of a high school in Warsaw. A classic work was chosen, to reflect the school’s values—critical thinking, creativity,
open-mindedness. The book is pocket-sized, a tiny object that holds great ideas.
The design of the book is built around associations with mediterranean culture. One of the characteristic motifs appearing on the cover
is gold embossing. The hard cover and the package design refer to marble. The illustrations symbolically present the content
of the philosophers dialogue.
