Surreal Photography

SURREAL  PHOTOGRAPHY. 
Surrealism is defined as a style of art initially developed in the 20th century that stresses imagination and imagery.  Surreal photography allows you to broaden your mind and create photos that are outside of physical possibility.  It involves taking multiple photos and using tools like Photoshop to bring them together into something amazing.  I personally believe that a surreal photograph is able to hold so much more meaning because of this, which is why it is my favourite type of photography.
My two surreal photographs are ideas of mine come to life, both following the same haunting theme.
For this project I really wanted to focus on a theme of horror and mystery.  To begin I found a variety of inspiring images that would help me decide on my final photographs.
I then brainstormed some ideas:
For my surreal portrait, I decided on a symmetrical photo of ghost whose head is facing the wrong way using techniques like levitation and transformation.  For my environment image, I decided to create a creepy photo of hands covering the trees near a haunted house.
