Creating a solution to aid declining moth populations in urban areas by encouraging consumers to introduce more habitat spaces for moths and other species into their gardens.
My solution to the issue of declining moth populations in urban areas was to find a way to encourage consumers to put more habitable plantation into their gardens that could be used by the native moths, because habitat loss due to urbanisation was such a big factor in their population decline.

To do this I decided to design a plant kit for children aged 6 - 13 containing some specially selected plants for them to grow that would create the foundation for a habitat catering to native UK moths.
I made initial prototypes of my final plant kit design to find the size that would be required to hold 3 plant pots, 3 seed packets and the instructions. I also used this initial prototype to get the final measurements so I could create a template and begin cutting the design out on the Zund.
This was my final design without graphics, I added a cover slip over the box to help protect the contents and prevent the two halves from opening before the purchase of the product.
For the final graphics of my box I decided to keep it very simple, yet bold and eye-catching. I put information about the contents of the product on the outer slip of the box and put the life-cycle of a moth on the inner box to add an element of education to the packaging.
