Modelling and Prototyping 198.221

Explore issues and design considerations relevant to modelling and prototyping of three-dimensional design. Develop the design of a home coffee espresso machine through a series of models. In this Project, I will showcase small snippets of my design process, followed by final renderings of the model and images of the physical model itself.

Initial Mood Board for inspiration - A lot of ideas for colour palette & multiple ideas for a retro theme. Sharp edges and a range of organic and geometric forms.
Above: Second Development mood board - Getting inspiration for final form and small features to add.
Above: Simple, central control layout.
Above: Extra renders showing multiple angles.
Above: Showing a small detail. The line of sight for a person to easily see the grouphead for easier use (where the portafilter slots into).
Multiple features of the coffee machine include  -
1. Rotating water tank for ease of refilling (and allowing the machine to fit in any corner of the kitchen area).
2. Simple controls (on button, steam wand power, espresso shot button(real photos below explain fully).
3. Rotating steam wand for easy access from any side.
4. Single hole in drip-tray grill for easy removal.

Hope you all enjoyed! Thanks.
