The Pink City Company is a small enterprise run by mother daughter duo, Simrita and Deepa Chopra. They started the company as a way to connect craftspeople in Jaipur with customers in New Delhi. They worked closely with the craftspeople to be able to create a range of products that would work well for the market. As the craft that they were showcasing - gotta patti, pittan work, lehriya and bandini - are rooted in Jaipur, they were very keen to name the company after the famous city. Hence was born "The Pink City Company" (Jaipur is also known as the pink city as the buildings within the walled historic centre are all painted a terracotta “pink” colour).
