'MOONSHINE' Magazine

MOONSHINE Magazine was conceptualised and designed to be a publication for designers and˛type enthusiasts. This particular issue was themed around experimental typography; the ‘Typographic Rabbit Hole’.
Another article in the magazine was ‘White Space’ by Ellen Lupton,  which described white space ‘as sacred as a fresh bar of soap’. The embossing evokes the same pure forms for a poetic accompaniment to the article
This fold-out spread was designed for ‘Typeface and Typography’ by Kenya Hara. The article explains the evolution of type and technology, from movable ceramics to digital typefaces. Its material beginnings are referenced in the mono-printed letterforms, which were abstracted and deconstructed to visualise the evolutionary mutation of the written word. Visually, the spread works folded out and in, to maintain the cohesive sense
of design.
