For this project, we were given the existing San Francisco Climate Action Strategy Book and asked to redesign it. along with the website. This kind of climate report might be a little bring for me average person to read, which is unfortunate because climate change is an important issue for everyone. So I wanted to create a book design that was lighter, more easier to read.
Since climate change is such an important issue, I decided to use the “Survival Kit” concept, which uses a little humor even though the problem is serious. I divided this kit into five booklets because the original Climate Action Strategy Book by itself is a long and difficult. The five booklets are the Survival Manual, the Energy Watch, an Energy Map, the Urban Garden, and the Pill Book. Breaking it up makes it easier to read and allows readers to get the information in any order they want. Also, these booklets can be sold as a book series or individually. The booklets range in size from tiny to medium, depending on the content. The website has the same content as the books as well as additional statistics and information, but in an interactive format.
