Unreal Humans of Dhaka

I live in Dhaka City, Bangladesh. The capital of a small country, with a large number of people with an even larger vignette of emotions to share and certain urban settings that can only be found in our parts of the world. More often than not, places like Dhaka are portrayed to the rest of the world in one of the three ways -  a) a developing country full of black and white smiling street children b) a nation suffering relentless political turmoil yet undergoing massive economic growth c) a exotic world of mystery with magical tigers - none of which are completely accurate (or completely wrong for that matter)

Through this ongoing art series titled #UnrealHumansofDhaka, I wanted to showcase Dhaka in a way that I am familiar with - a juxtaposition of the world that I grew up in - i.e. Bangladesh of the aforementioned a, b and c - and the world I know - i.e. global pop culture. For anyone who's never been to Dhaka, I hope the presence of Sherlock, Jesse Pinkman and a French Electronic Music Duo helps you gain some sense of familiarity & get a more accurate (or less accurate for that matter) picture of what the city is.

Cheers
