I painted this in July 2016.  This portrait is incredibly important to me as it pinpoints the improvement in my art. I found myself more willing to paint realistically and experiment with colours to make my pictures feel more alive. 

I hadn’t actually used my tablet for around 6 months before I created this so I was relieved to see that I hadn’t lost my sense of creativity. Now I realise that I never will. 

I originally posted this on my deviantart page and in the description I wrote that during the painting process I had no idea what I was doing and I was literally just winging it. I was trying something new and it made me very uncomfortable but hey, in the end, it came out really well. I learnt that it's good uncomfortable because if you are uncomfortable it means you are moving forward. You will never improve if you stick to your comforts.
