Thirty years, an attitude

“Thirty years, remains same attitude toward his way of living and creation
– following nature rhythm and man’s inner call.

By doing so, life is injected to his art.”

Mr. TL Wu, awarded copper carving artist and one of two existing craft masters of hand-made Gong (traditional music instrument) in Taiwan. His hand-made Gong are also collected by Buddhist leaders.

TL Wu leads a nature life in the mountain area in New Taipei City for decades. He always uses natural materials for his creation which is also his inspiration. Over thirty years’ nonstop practicing, he is well-known for handmade Gong and its sound tuning. In despite of less demand of Gong in Taiwan nowadays, he still insists to have such craft inherited. Apart from making Gong, he also creates copper carvings.

Being a sincere Buddhist, a lot of his copper works reflects Buddhism teaching. His favorite subject is lotus, as lotus flower symbolizes rising and blooming above the murk to achieve enlightenment in Buddhism. TL Wu hopes people will associate lotus carving with his name in the future.
