Street Light
‘Street Light’ is a short photographic series that experiments with portraiture. The series is comprised of six portraits which were taken outdoors during the nighttime using a lonesome streetlight as my only light source. This series explores themes such as loneliness, emptiness and endlessness. This is most overtly expressed through the swathes of blackness and dark space within each photograph.
The manipulation of light direction and camera angles allow high points of the face to be highlighted and brought forward - allowing the face to appear as though it is emerging out of the blackness.
