Close Enough was born out of a youth-led experimental publishing project, held over 10 weeks (September - November 2017) at the Auburn Youth Centre in Western Sydney. With training and mentoring from a group of seasoned writers, photographers, designers and illustrators, a group of young men explored suburban identities, looking inward to their neighbourhoods as well as outwards to the world beyond their backyards.
This publication brings together the group’s unique perspectives on music, art and poetry as well as their investigations into new areas of creative exploration. This collection of observation and insights offers a rare glimpse into the world of young men growing up in Western Sydney.
