Had to write a report for work and I didn't want to just make an academic-looking 'boring' cover. Plus, my project had no budget to employ a professional illustrator. So I decided to take matters into my own hands ....

This was the very very rough 'zero' draft, done in about 30 minutes.

Work got busy, really busy. It was only four months later that the first draft got done!

Filling in the first layer of colours ...

After two weekends of shading, using 'stolen' time.

Added the little red squirrel! Can't ever have 'too many' animals. :)

Finally, 99% done! Just lacking the report titles and logos.

My brother commented that I was missing the 'ICT' (information communications technology) element of green/smart cities here. I was ambivalent about depicting people glued to electronic devices, but I managed to add in some telecommunication towers, at least.
