Student Brief:

To create a visual language for the British Film Festival's John Hughes Series.

Result:

This design was inspired by the playfulness in the selection of films directed by John Hughes. The brochure aims to evoke themes of love, teen-angst and coming-of-age highlighted in the works of John Hughes through a layout that is reminiscent of the comic book culture of the 80s - with black and white illustrations, duotone imagery, and characters with incomplete faces, which speak to the subject of identity, gender dynamics and character development in these stories.
