The Big Sky
The almost  endless sky that spreads above the land is one of my favorite photographical themes. I love to watch the clouds go by, changing their shape and size from one second to the other. The wide extension of that sky shows how tiny people are: they mean nothing compared to the neverending grandezza. When the weather changes, when storm or rain rises above, when the elements of nature create a remarkable symphony of sounds, colors and power - then you can see your place in this game.
I love to shot landscapes with my old Hasselblad and most likely with the 40 years old 40mm-Distagon from Carl Zeiss. It gives me medidation, contemplation and inner peace to look through the viewfinder (a PME 90) and to see the picture come into existance. Imagination and reality unite into a vision. Nevertheless I use a Nikon D 850 with the Sigma 2.8/24-70 lens and the Sigma 2.8/70-200.
All pictures were shot in close vicinity to my home - Hof in northern Bavaria except the one with the containership and the one with the Northern sSea.
