Space Painting Appliance
For this project I was required to develop a working functional, innovative space painting appliance. The purpose of this is to deliver emotion or tell a story without needing to permanently alter the physical surface of the space. This is to be able to be used for interiors, exhibitions, or galleries.
The product outcome will be a functional and robust AV Product suited to local appropriate manufacturing processes, and utilising available standard components where necessary.
Technical Requirements:
- Appliance is required to paint a minimum area of 3m in height, but 5m across if the room is dark.
- The light source needs to be appropriate to effectively illuminate this area.
- Product has to be dynamic, and not static.
- Product has to be powered by either 220V or a battery (12V gate motor type battery) and incorporate charging circuit.
- Product composition is to suit SA Batch manufacture, with minimal tooling cost outlays.

- Product graphics and warnings will need to be included on all functional prototypes.
- The products which are developed through this project will be functional and effectively composed, able to be used for an acceptable duty cycle of 6 hours or more in an exhibition environment.
