Lake Dining Table
House on Lake Okoboji, Iowa, 2008
This 3' x 9' dining table recalls traditional wooden lake boats. It has a clean, flat top, a knife edge, and a supple, curved underside. The underside bulges to 3" thick at the points where 2' diameter stainless steel legs meet the table with no visible connections (they are removable - threaded to embedded bolts inside the mass of the wooden table). The table was fabricated for the Okoboji House by Colley Furniture Studio using solid White Oak boards as a reference to the trees surrounding the house.
