The Urban Preliminary Design for the Sixth Avenue was a public contest organized in the city of Cali, Colombia by the Municipal Planning Management (la Dirección de Planeación Municipal) and the Colombian Architects’ Society (Sociedad Colombiana de Arquitectos). The purpose of this contest was to design an intervention of the sidewalks in the public space of the Sixth avenue in the city. The idea behind this project was to create a homogeneity of the street and the sidewalks so that each could be at the same level and they could be enjoyed by people without the obstacles that are there today. Our images want to portray the idea of an avenue where people have the opportunity of living meaningful experiences on these renovated culturally significant places. These images were conceived for one of the contestant teams in this competition.
