Portrait d'Yves

This is a very personal work, my mother asked me to do this portrait of her companion who died last year. I did a version with a clear simple background and a second one more complex with references to Jazz music. The person portrayed was fond of this music.

The references are not meant to be easy to identify. The most detailed ones are the cover of an album of Miles Davis, "On the corner" (1972) and a poster announcing the Jazz Festival of New York at the Bluetone club (1962).
Below, an alternative initial sketch.
