Riso (Bersih 5.0)
Brief
The word "Bersih", which means "Clean" in Malay language which refers to the Coalition of Free and Fair Elections in Malaysia as it plans to hold a massive rally to demand the resignation of the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak.
It is a civil society movement consisting of 84 non-government organisations calling for a thorough reform of the electoral process in Malaysia. Bersih 5.0 is led by Maria Chin Abdullah from the Women's Development Collective (WDC). Its previous chief was former Bar Council president Datuk S. Ambiga
Concept
This riso booklet was inspired by a Malaysian political graphic designer, Fahmi Reza who is well known in particular for depicting the former Prime Minister, Najib Razak, as a clown. The overall booklet had explored a range of image making statements
and the Barisan Nasional's party imagery is powerful which has potential depth and impact.
