Xinán
EL proyecto fue llevado a cabo en el Nevado de Toluca, si bien es un volcán y se sabe el cómo surgen en México se conoce la leyenda de Xinán la cual tiene elementos místicos y de folklore que se trató de captar en las fotografías.
La leyenda cuenta que un sacerdote, llamado Xinan, quiso conocer a una diosa que vivía en el antiguo lago de Metepec (la Tlanchana). Un día, Xinan fue al lago y se metió desnudo, la diosa lo vio y le mandó salir inmediatamente, de lo contrario vería su ira. Xinan no hizo caso, se enamoró de la diosa inmediatamente y quiso vivir con ella. Día a día se dirigía al lago para verla.
Ella harta y enfurecida lo hizo salir, y por haberla desobedecido lo castigó lanzándolo muy lejos del lago. El sacerdote herido de amor se dirigió al medio del llano, se abrió el pecho y dejó que su corazón se quemara. La diosa pensó que no habría más molestias, pero no fue así. El cuerpo del sacerdote comenzó a crecer y a pegarse a la tierra. Y lo que su corazón manaba empezó a quemar y a cubrir todo lo que le rodeaba, convirtiéndose en un volcán. La diosa arrepentida quiso ir a donde él, pero no fue posible, puesto el volcán la estaba encerrando en una gran cantidad de tierra. La diosa tuvo que escapar de allí, pero su hogar fue devastado. Entonces ella subió al volcán y pidió perdón y le tapó el corazón, para que así no hubiera problemas. Unos dicen que ella vivió en el río Verdiguel, pero no soportó más el ver al sacerdote, y se fue de Toluca.

The project was carried out in the Nevado de Toluca, although it is a volcano and it is known how they raise; here in Mexico the process is well known by the legend of Xinán which has mystical elements and folklore that I tried to capture in the photographs.

One day, Xinan went to the lake and got naked, the goddess saw him and ordered him out immediately, otherwise he would see his anger. Xinan ignored it, fell in love with the goddess immediately and wanted to live with her. Day by day he went to the lake to see her.
She was fed up and enraged and made him come out, and for disobeying her she punished him by throwing him far away from the lake. The love-stricken priest went to the middle of the plain, opened his chest and let his heart burn. The goddess thought there would be no more discomfort, but there was not. The priest's body began to grow and stick to the ground. And what was flowing from his heart began to burn and cover everything around him, becoming a volcano. The repentant goddess wanted to go to him, but it was not possible, as the volcano was enclosing her in a large amount of land. The goddess had to escape from there, but her home was devastated. Then she went up to the volcano and asked for forgiveness and covered her heart, so that there would be no trouble. Some say that she lived on the Verdiguel River, but she couldn't bear to see the priest anymore, and left Toluca.

Cómo se realizaron// How it came together:
Las fotos se realizaron con la Nikon D5500 y fueron editadas en Ps y Lightroom.
Se llevaron dos cargas de pila, ya que debido a las condiciones del clima no era posible realizar una sesión larga, ya que se agotaba la pila a mayor velocidad.

This was shot on Nikon D5500 and edited in Photoshop y Lightroom.
Two battery charges were taken, as due to the weather conditions it was not possible to have a long session, as the battery was running low at a higher speed.
