A common mistake inexperienced automotive CGI artists make when creating studio renders is that they tend to over-complicate their lighting way too much. The goal is always the same - recreate realism. But CG software gives an artist much more control than a photographer has. This can lead to having messy reflections, loss of shape in the car and an unrealistic looking image.
