Cooking in the future
The Context
I took part in the SCHOTT CERAN® Design Awards 2017, the german-based world market leader in glass-ceramic cooktop panels was looking for creative cooking space creators. this year’s task focus on the space beside, under, over and around the class ceramic cooktop. my concept has been exhibited at London Design Festival 2017.
The challenge
How will we cook in the future?
The contest motto of this year is Cooking FUSICS, “FUSICS” means “function“, “urbanism“, “sustainability“, “illumination“, “connectivity“ and “social experience“.
The Concept
My concept evolved around the contest challenges and on three big ideas: making the glass cooktop an interactive control center, with a voice activated intelligent personal assistant for home in era of the Internet of things , helping user step-by-step in food exploration, preparation, cooking, and exploring ceramic glass application possibilities.

Introducing : Fusics SmartCOOKING
The Concept is designed to make people more creative about cooking, incorporating a new aesthetic qualities: smooth, seamless surfaces with integrated connected and smart technologies, the induction coils, touch-screen control, sensors, extractor, sound system, cameras, are integrated under a durable anti-bacterial, stain-resistant Coated ceramic glass cooktop, the technology is really hidden and it goes away when components are not in use.

In the future and the Internet of things era, the cooktop screen will acts as an interactive control center in home with voice activated intelligent personal assistant capable of voice interaction. The user can control the domotics, interact with connected devices and appliances, stream media and play music directly, read and send Email, do e-shopping and more. The system store, share and display recipes, show step-by-step cooking instructions and video demonstrations, weight ingredients, use camera to recognize user face and track his calories intake.
Because nobody wants another gadget that complicates their life. They don’t want to push a million buttons, they just want something simple and easy that gets the job done, the user interface design is simple, intuitive and very easy to use.
