Or you can also say it as I would, which is, “I am somewhat uncomfortable with the idea that there is no ground to reality, but given that information I find it reprehensible to not be an active participant, creating your own meaning and value in this life. You must build something out of nothing.”
 
The idea here is to recognize the notion that there is no ground, no basis for morals or meaning to objective reality, on their own, and that that truth, while valid insofar as there is no meaning outside of existence itself, leads one to wonder: what does it mean for me to be?
 
Whatever emotional anguish arises from this groundlessness, (nothingness or meaninglessness when talking with a nihilist), cannot be overcome passively. That is why within the existential framework it is necessary for an individual to be “authentic”, meaning he acts according to his own will and not that of the group, to find meaning and value in his own existence, this becomes his essence, this where he can find his own ground, his own meaning.
 
From this groundless base we grow. All personal and social beliefs stem from here.
