This logo was designed to give the Mayor’s Fitness Council and their drive for a fitter city a face that the city of San Antonio could recognize as a symbol for health and well-being. The quatrefoil was used as an architectural symbol that represents San Antonio; it is prevalent throughout our city. The shape of the heart with an apple stem was meant to bring together the concept of heart health and healthy habits (such as food consumption). Mayor Julian Juan Castro unveiled the logo to the city at a Press Conference held at City Hall on Friday, November 16th. He was quoted saying, “This logo is very nice and will serve as a symbol of our efforts in making our city healthy and as fit as it can be.”
