This piece I created for a small works project collaboration between Libraby Street Collective and The Luciano Benetton Foundation. The project consists of 100 artists selected from North America who are given a 4"x5" canvas and encouraged to showcase their abilities and style as they would like.
The collection will be exhibitied at the 2013 Venice Biennale. Along with the exhibition, photographs of the works and artists biographies will be published in a book by SKIRA in Milan, Italy.
For my piece I wanted to experiment further with the direction my art has recently taken. I've found a real love for drawing portraits, especially women and showcasing them in a fashionable way. My medium of choice, pastel, allows me to work very softly, enhancing a woman's beauty and what it is to be beautiful.
